A three hour primetime ABC News documentary, which was a worldwide exclusive reporemmy awardt telling the story behind Iran-US hostage crisis. It detailed how the hostages were released from captivity.  The documentary was first broadcast on January 22. 1981, and then rebroadcast as an updated documentary on January 28,l981. Responsibilities included creating the documentary concept and working with Pierre Salinger as theeditorial producer of the primetime broadcast, as well as, helping the production team of eighty persons spread around the world to report and produce the documentary.

A three hour primetime ABC News special documentary  broadcast in January l982 with hosts David Brinkley and Robert Trout and a team of correspondents reporting on the contemporary issues of the day .  Working with the Executive Producer developed the creative format and supervised the production of this documentary presented on the 100th anniversary of  President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s birth.  This included coordinating all the interviews with the living former US Presidents Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and then President Ronald Reagan in the Oval Office. 

The primetime special was awarded the Christopher and a Banff "Rockie".

In March & April 2004 resided at the Academy while working on a project related to culture, conflict and media as part of "In Search of the Spirit" project begun in 1999. While in Rome had meetings with an Archbishop, the President of Social Communications in the Curia at the Vatican to discuss the role of the Vatican and their perceptions of the role of the media and cultures.

 In the fall semester 1999 created and taught as part of the program at Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) in Glenside, Pennsylvania a graduate studies course entitled The Impact of Media on Peacekeeping and Conflict Resolution.

Appointed to a year long fellowship developed a project entitled Media World: In Search of the Spirit.   As part of the project created and  produced a forty five minute television pilot exploring the relationship of journalism and the world of the sacred;  a half hour documentary examining the inner workings of a local television news operation in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a website developed with four high school students, who wrote up their views of ethical behavior and the consequences for their lives, and working with other elements of the project to form the basis for the beginning of a book with the working title "In Search of the Spirit".  Delivered a final report at the Center in 1999.
